He was born on June 17, 1917 to the late Dr. Bernhard H. and Minnie (Low). Witt. Leonard went to Scribner High School and graduated from Kansas State University where he received his degree in veterinary medicine. He and his father provided veterinary service to the Scribner area for over 40 years. In 1942, he married Evelyn Drake and they lived in the Scribner area until 1963. They lived in Idaho until Evelyn's death in 1985. Leonard later married Margaret Rohlf of Elk River, MN and lived there until her death in 1996. He returned to Fremont where he lived until his death.
He is survived by his son James and wife Joyce Witt of North Haven , CT , his daughter Mary Witt of Twin Falls , ID , his sister Ruth Heyne of Fremont and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ralph and Joan (Drake) Myhrman of Mendota Heights , MN . In addition, survivors include several nieces and nephews and Margaret Rohlf's seven children and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and two wives.
There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in the Scribner Cemetery at a later date.
