Thomas J. Hill, age 56, of Fremont,
died April 17, 2014
He was born October 12, 1957 in Oakland, Nebraska. The family was living in Decatur at the time. They also lived in Algona, Iowa and in Ft. Madison, Iowa where he graduated from high school in 1976.
He had been active in Key Club and a Methodist Church youth group. He attended Iowa University (Hawkeyes) in Iowa City for a year. He received his Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in Human Services and Chemical Dependency Counseling with Honors on February 28, 1994 at Metropolitan Community College. He worked at Equilibria and Community Alliance in Omaha for many years, always working to help others. He is forever loved and missed greatly by many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Hill; baby sisters, Paula Beth and Rebecka Jean, and an infant sister; grandparents, Bill and Mable Schnebel, Ted and Bessie Hill, stepgrandfather Dale McCray; aunts and uncles, Anita and Duane Kruse, Bill Schnebel, Ralph and Marilyn Hill.
He us survived by: mother, Betty Hill Donovan of Fremont; son Blake (Amanda) Hill of Omaha; daughter, Sarah (Adam) Mahlberg of Omaha; step-sons, Josh Stierwalt and Vinnie Treinen; grandchildren, Kaydence and Phillip Mahlberg, and special little friend, Anslie; brothers, Tim (Mary) Hill, Tedd Hill, Gregg (Hansie) Hill; sister, Carol Davis, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A memorial service will be 2 PM Friday (May 23rd) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the United States ATV Search and Rescue.
