Ruth was born on December 26, 1908 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frank and Alma (Gram) Datel. She was raised in Omaha where she received her education.

From 1926 to 1944, Ruth was employed in Omaha by the telephone company. Then she went to work for Omaha Savings & Loan Association until she retired. Beginning in 1975, she was a care giver.

Ruth was married to Harold Meyer on April 2, 1932 in Papillion, Nebraska and he preceded her in death in March of 1975. Later, on December 8, 1985, Ruth was married to Willard Privett and they made their home in Fremont. Willard died on January 7, 1993.

Ruth is survived by her best friend, Harvey Peters of Fremont.
Among other survivors are 5 nieces; Barbara Phillips of New York, Lujean Dunlap of Colorado, Alma Winterbotham of Oregon, Marian Byler of Missouri, and Mary King of Omaha; and a brother-in-law Gene McDonald of Omaha. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters.

The funeral service will be 1 PM Monday (Febr. 24th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont. The committal will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Omaha. Visitation at the mortuary will be on Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Memorials are suggested to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana 59004.
