Lela M. Richards, age 79, of Fremont;
died Friday (Dec. 20th, 2013)
in A.J. Merrick Manor, Fremont
Lela was born to Paul and Alice (Slatt) Johnson on August 22, 1934 in Oakland, Nebraska. She grew up in Cuming County and graduated from Oakland High School in 1951. She had moved with her family to a farm east of Oakland in 1950.
In 1969, Lela moved to Fremont. She was employed by J C Penney until retiring in 1997, after 28 years. She has kept her membership with the Salem Covenant Church of Oakland.
She is survived by cousins and their families.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday (Dec. 27th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Steven Hoden of Salem Covenant Church officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning for an hour before the service at the mortuary. The committal will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
