Albert was born September 6, 1922 in Milburn, Nebraska to Wilson E. and Clara Edna 'Hogaboom' Thomas. He was raised in Milburn and graduated from Dunning High School in 1939. After high school Albert began his long career with the telephone company. Albert married Zita Mae Foote on August 16, 1947. The couple moved to Scribner in 1957. Albert was working for Great Plains Communication until he retired in 1987.
Albert was a founding member of the Scribner Improvement and Industrial Corporation, and involved with the Scribner Chamber of Commerce. He was on the Scribner School Board, serving at one time as the School Board President. He served on the Scribner Housing Board. He was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Scribner Masonic Lodge No. 132.

Daughters – Shirley Holbach of Elkhart, IA.
Cindy and husband Scott Green of Minneapolis, MN.
Sons – Leland and wife Mary Thomas of Dunning, NE.
Eric and wife Donna Thomas of Whiting, IA.
Kenny and wife Sally Thomas of Scribner

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law Scott, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
The funeral will be 2pm Monday October 14 at the United Church of Christ, UCC in Scribner. Pastor Larry Jirsak will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Scribner Area Foundation. Visitation will be 2pm to 7pm Sunday at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel the family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm. A Masonic Service open to the public will be at 4pm on Sunday. Visitation will continue for 1 hour before the service at the church on Monday.
