Robert was born June 13, 1932 in St. Louis, MO. to John and Lena 'Rost' Meyer. He lived in St. Louis until he entered the United States Navy in 1950. While in the Navy Robert received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He served until 1954. After his military service Robert began his career in the steel manufacturing business in Texas. He married Carmen Meier in 1976. The couple resided in Baytown, Texas until moving to Fremont in 1988. While in Texas Robert was a VFW member.

Brother-in-law – Randy Meier of Las Vegas, NV.
Niece and Nephew – Krystal and Kory Varilek of Fremont
Visitation with the family present will be Monday from 5pm to 7pm. A memorial service will follow at 7pm all at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Timothy Anderson will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Donor's choice. Private burial with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard will be held at Memorial Cemetery.
