John was born September 10, 1948 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Harry and Doris 'Tiley' Adkerson. He grew up in Terre Haute where he was active in Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from high school in Terre Haute

He lived in Florida before coming to Fremont in the early 1990's. He was employed in Fremont by Hammond & Stephens Co. for nearly 20 years.

In Fremont he was a member of the Fremont Masonic Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M., where he served as the Worshipful Master twice, the York Rite Masonic Bodies, Fremont Shrine Club, Roadsters II, and he was a member of Tangier Shrine of Omaha. He was also was a member of Arbor Vitae Chapter 92 Order of Eastern Star in Fremont.

John is survived by: daughter – Melissa Haack and fiancee' Burnie Sullivan of Fremont
grandson – Ryan Haack
son – John and wife Sherrie Adkerson of Indiana
sister – Connie and husband Dean Cook of Indiana

A Masonic Service, open to the public, will be held at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont, Thursday evening (April 18th) at 7:30 PM. There is no visitation or further services. Memorials are suggested to the Masonic-Eastern Star Home for Children.
