Douglas was born in San Fernando, California on April 9, 1951 to Douglas and Shirley (Littrell) Van Horn, Sr. He grew up in California, graduating from Sylmar High School in Sylmar, CA.
On December 15, 1990 he was married to Denise Wymore. Since living in Fremont, he has attended Metropolitan Community College and received his degree from Bellevue University. He had been employed by the Nebraska Dept. of Health and Human Resources in Lincoln. He was a member of the Midwest Street Rod Association.
His survivors include; his wife – Denise
mother – Shirley Del Giudice of California
2 sons – Jason and Jeremy Van Horn, both of Tennessee
3 grandchildren
1 brother – William and wife Marcy Van Horn of California
