Ray was born June 5, 1922 on the family farm in Washington County, near Herman to Henry and Ella 'Busch' Bohling. He attended the rural Wolf School and Immanuel Lutheran School. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family moved to a farm south of Hooper. Ray and his sister Eileen, farmed and raised hogs together until they retired into Fremont.
Ray was member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for a time while living in Fremont. Ray loved to farm and loved his companion of many years 'Ginger', his dog.
Ray was preceded in death by his sister Eileen in March of 2009.
The funeral service will be 2pm Friday, March 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Jonathan Ripke will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Hour.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
