Ann was born January 20, 1936 in Fremont to Harold and Claudine 'Akerlund' Whitmer. She grew up here, and graduated from Fremont High School. She attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and Midland Lutheran College in Fremont.

On September 23, 1956, Ann was married here in Fremont to Dennis D. Behrens, and Fremont has been their home. In her early adult years, she worked for the Pathfinder Company in Fremont. Since that time, she has been a homemaker.

Ann was a member of The Presbyterian Church, and she had been a Red. Cross volunteer.

Survivors: husband – Dennis
daughter – Joan Behrens of Fremont
son – Douglas and wife Kelley Behrens of Akron, Ohio
4 grandchildren – Mindy Olson, Annie and husband Ross Denison,
Avery Behrens and Claudia Behrens
1 great grandson – Landon Olson
mother-in-law – Doris Behrens of Fremont
brother – John and wife LaVerne Whitmer of Fremont

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Claudine Whitmer.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Monday (Jan. 28th) in The Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. William Lewis officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge County Humane Society and the Fremont Fire Dept.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Sunday (Jan. 27th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 5 PM., and visitation at the church on Monday will be for an hour before the service.
