John was born to Robert and Lillie (Hendricks) Cartmill on June 29, 1964 in Omaha. He grew up in Mead, graduating from Mead High School.
For the past 18 years, John has been employed by Structural Component Systems, Inc. in Fremont. He was a past Fire Chief of the Mead Fire Dept., and had been serving as a fire fighter and working with the rescue squad crew.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.

Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont today (Monday - June 25, 2012) 3pm to 8pm with family from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be 2 PM Tuesday (June 26th) in Mead in the Mead Covenant Church. The committal will be in the Morningside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Mead Fire and Rescue Dept.
