Mary Ellen Jones was born February 14, 1934 to Carl Harry and Laura 'Ethyl' (Manzel) Johnson. She left her earthly life on June 25, 2012 after a short illness. She was born and raised in Fremont, Nebraska. She started school at Garden City School and graduated from Fremont High School "Class of 52". Mary worked at Fiehn's Camera shop and a short time with Hormel's.

She married Kenneth Eugene Jones on February 14, 1954. They were blessed with five children. The family made their home in Arlington, Nebraska and were members of the Arlington Community Church. While her children were young Mary worked with the Arlington School System and did a short stint broadcasting the Arlington News on KHUB. She made many friends during her employment at JC Penney's, and Pendleton Woolen Mills. After leaving Pendleton she worked making draperies with her sister Dee for area decorators. She finished her working career at Country Traditions Quilt Shop in Fremont.

She enjoyed summer camping vacations and traveling. Her favorite past times were quilting, reading, and being a member of a monthly craft club with family and friends. She was a volunteer for several years with the Arlington Public Library and had many friends there as well. She loved the company of her grandchildren and always loved hearing from them.

She is survived by 3 daughters and a daughter in law, Peggy Tonjum and friend Joe Rebman of Beloit, Wisconsin; Becky and husband Tom Bartley of Oakland, Nebraska; Robin and husband Randy Millie of Fremont; and Susan Jones of Fremont. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and expecting one soon; Sister Dolores and husband Clarence Arbaugh of Fremont; and brother Roland 'Bud' and wife Karen Johnson of Fremont. She was a loving mother and grandmother and we will hold her in our hearts forever. Love you Mom!
