Marijo was born March 7, 1929 in the family farm home near Westminster, South Carolina. Her parents were Jessie Brownlee King and Maderia 'Alexander' King. She was baptized and attended the Coneross Baptist Church there. She grew up in a community of relatives, and attended grade school in Westminster, and during her high school years, she spent the summers living in a boarding house in Atlanta, Georgia while working in a Sears store. She graduated from high school in Walhalla, South Carolina.
Marijo met her husband to be while she was working in Harpers 5 & 10 in Walhalla. He was a Nebraskan, who while on vacation with his friends, went into Harpers store to make a purchase. Eventually, on April 9, 1950, she married Norman Kruger in Walhalla, and they made their home on his family farm place in rural Arlington, Nebraska in the Telbasta area. They spent their married years on this farm until 1979, when they moved ¼ mile south to another house. Marijo lived there until becoming a resident of Merrick Manor in Fremont. She had worked at Camp Fontanelle for 25 years, and for many years she operated 'My Own Touch' catering service.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont. She also belonged to the Pleasant Hour Club and to SMILES (of Hooper).
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman in March of 1990, by a grandson James Kruger in Febr. of 1994, by a great granddaughter Madison Ness in January of 1996, and by a sister Sally Ruth King.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday (April 25th) in the First United Methodist Church in Fremont with the Rev. Ron Croom officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church and to the donor's choice.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont will be on Thursday (April 24th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 PM.
