Luella was born in Thurston County, Nebraska to Harvey and Della (Kai) Frey on March 20, 1923. She grew up in that area and in Emerson.
On August 1, 1946, Luella was married to Joseph Brustkern and they resided in Fremont. Joseph died in 1974. Then on February 29, 1976, she was married to Holger Thompsen and they lived in Omaha. Holger died in 2006.
Luella always put a smile on your face. She loved animals, especially her dogs and her rabbit. She enjoyed being on a bowling team, and had a great love for dancing. She was a great cook and worked several years as a product sample clerk. Luella babysat for several years for many children. She was also the director of the nursery at the Country Side Church in Omaha. She adored children and the families she cared for. She was a proud aunt, and a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Luella was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Joseph and Holger, her parents, Harvey and Della, sister Jeanie, brother Delmer and his wife Hilda Frey, and a sister-in-law Tillie Frey.

The funeral service will be Tuesday (Nov. 27th) at 10:30 AM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont. Rev. Gretchen Ritola of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Emerson, Nebraska will officiate. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 8 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont.
