Lois was born April 15, 1919 in Bancroft where she grew up on the farm. Her parents were Theodore and Dorothea (Harms) Eggert. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church and attended the Zion Lutheran School in rural Bancroft.

Lois worked in Omaha for a brief time, then moved to Denver, and then to Fremont. Here she worked several years in the hospital's maternity ward.

On December 29, 1946, Lois was married to Woodrow 'Woody' Gordon in Trinity Lutheran Church here in Fremont.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active with their quilters. Lois enjoyed camping, gardening, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow "Woody" on Christmas day in December of 1996, by an infant daughter Sharon, her son-in-law James McDermott in August of 2006, by 2 sisters Hildegarde Hansen and Lydia Eggert.

2 grandchildren – Jason McDermott of Omaha
Melissa McDermott of Omaha
2 sisters – Ruth Schaub of Fremont
Frieda Hermelbracht of Gainsville, Florida
1 brother – Rev. Ed Eggert of Milwaukee, Wisc.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM Monday (Dec. 8th) in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Meyer officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School and the Lutheran Family Services.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont will be on Sunday (Dec. 7th) from 2 to 6 PM, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 PM. Visitation will also be at the church Monday morning for an hour before the service.
