Gary was born January 2, 1942 in Luverne, Mn. to Raymond and Martha 'Schmuck' Stroeh. He was raised in Luverne. After his school he farmed and milked cows with his dad. Gary married Karen Kistler in 1962. They later divorced. Gary then married Rita Willard in 1998. Gary continued to live in Luverne until moving to Fremont in August of 2006 to be closer to family.

Wife – Rita of Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Son – Michael Stroeh of Harrington, Delaware
4 Daughters – Lori and husband Russ Sorensen of Fremont
Carmen and husband Corey Stratton of Rock Rapids, Iowa
Christine and husband Jeff Niessink of Brandon, South Dakota
Bonnie and husband Chad Meinerts of Luverne, Minnesota
Sister – Lavonne and husband Reed Ogilvie of Clawson, Michigan

9 grandchildren
2 great grandchildren

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00am Monday December 15 at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9am until 11am at Ludvigsen Mortuary. A family gathering will be on Saturday December 20, in Luverne Minnesota at First Baptist Church from 2pm to 4pm.

"Sorry to hear about Gary's death. The Alvin Kasemodel family sends its condolences to all from our whole family. I remember spending summer vacation playing with him since he lived so close to Grandma and Grandpa Kasey. In later year I had the pleasure of living in Sioux Falls and ran in to Gray quite often while visiting Luverne. He would always stop and talk to me. Prayers will be with you all!"

"I was shocked to hear about Gary he was a great guy. I will miss his smiles. I used to take care of him at Arbor Manor he would always make me smile, even if I was in a bad mood. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to the family. I think he is in a better place with no more pain."
