He was born October 20, 1932 near North Bend, Nebraska and grew up in the North Bend and Ames area. His parents were Lester and Wilhelmina 'Kirchmann' Voss.
He was a lifetime farmer and a man of his word. He started by doing custom land leveling , welding, and well drilling. He received many awards for his expertise in raising seed corn during the 1960's and 70's (topping 200 bushel per acre). He was also a skilled carpenter and a mechanic, a man who could fix anything.
An avid hunter and an expert shot, he received many awards for trap shooting.
On June 20, 1959, he was married to Patricia Heald.

There is no viewing, however, the family and friends will gather at the Ludvigsen Mortuary for an informal time of remembrance at 10 AM Tuesday (March 3rd).
