"Roger and I served onboard The Battleship, and became good friends. We kept in touch through the years. Roger was a great Friend, Father, and superb Sailor. I am deeply saddened by his death. As I prepare to attend his funeral today, and after seeing Tess, Julia, Brandon, Mandy, and the Lebahn Family, I am reminded of how much of a great individual Roger was. Rest In Peace, Brother! Fair Winds and Following Seas!"

"I am so saddened to learn of Roger's passing. I have some fond memories of him as a shipmate onboard USS New Jersey. Roger was a good man who was willing to help the young sailors in his charge stay safe and on the right path. My and my family's sympathies to all of Roger's family."
