Gloria was born May 26, 1962, in Fremont, the daughter of Irvan U. and Arla M. Martin Hoerath. She graduated from Fremont High School, and earned an associate's degree from Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyo. She later attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.

Ms. Hoerath began working at Glass and O'Day Stables in Valley, Neb, and later worked at a horse ranch in Topeka, Kan. She then began working at the Quaker Oats/Del Monte Pet Products plant in Topeka, and later transferred to the Del Monte plant in Lawrence. She had more than 20 years of service with Del Monte at the time of her death.

Ms. Hoerath was married twice and divorced.

Survivors include
her parents – Irvan and Arla Hoerath of Fremont
brother – Jerry and wife Susanne Hoerath of Fremont
her life partner, Peggy Voth
a niece, Riley, and a nephew, Colton.

Funeral services for Gloria will be at 2 PM Thursday (March 19th) at Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery, with the Rev. Susan Sinclair officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge County Humane Society and the American Cancer Society.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM, and on Thursday from 10 AM until time of service.
