Lavilda was born in Fremont on March 4, 1928 to Roy and Ann (Rayevich) Vance. She has lived here all her life and graduated from Fremont High School. After high school, she began working for the Woolworth Dime Store in downtown Fremont. Later she worked in the optometrist office of Dr. Paul Todd and Dr. Robert Todd, retiring after more than 30 years.
On June 12, 1960, Lavilda was married to William 'Bill' Passick.
Lavilda was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Beta Epsilon Sorority.
She is survived by her husband Bill. Also surviving are 2 brothers Melvin and his wife Donna Vance of Fremont and Jerry Vance of Nickerson. She was preceded in death by her son Wayne, and 5 brothers, Clarence, Roland, Norman, Clifford, Arthur.
The funeral service will be 10:30am on Thursday (August 16th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Wednesday (Aug. 15th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family present from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Eastern Nebraska Genealogical Society.
