Marvin was born October 5, 1924 on the farm near Arlington, Nebraska to William and Olga (Schmidt) Hoeneman. He grew up on the farm there, attending St. Paul's Lutheran School.
He worked for area farmers until entering the United States Army where he served during the years of 1946 & 1947. He served in the Quartermaster Corps during the occupation of Japan. Marvin received the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.
On his return home following his military service he began farming in the Craig area. In 1948 he was married to Ione Oerman, and she died in September of 1985. In 1989, Marvin was married to Elnora Lauritsen Taylor and they made their home in Fremont. Elnora died in August of 1993. In 1994, Marvin was married to Ruth Verbeek Reker. Soon after their marriage, they moved to the Craig area.
Marvin was baptized October 15, 1924 and confirmed May 15, 1938 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington. He was currently a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. Marvin was also a member of American Legion Post 196 of Uehling.
Marvin was preceded in death, in addition to his wives Ione and Elnora, by his parents William and Olga, by a granddaughter, 2 sisters, a brother-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday (April 16, 2009) in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper (east of Winslow). Rev. Rodney Meske and Rev. Rick Kanoy will officiate. The committal will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 196. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. Visitation will be in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont, on Wednesday, April 15th, from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
