Nancy was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on May 12, 1941 to Otto and Clara (Ragotzke) Schwanke. She grew up on a farm near Creston, Nebraska. After high school graduation, she attended Midland College in Fremont, then Wayne State College, and received her degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She also had attended the University of Omaha and Denver University.

She taught school in Fremont, Grand Island, and Omaha Westside. She has resided in Fremont the past 40 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors: 3 sisters - Carolee and husband Richard Behrens of Lincoln
Linda and husband Terry White of Cottage Grove, MN
Susan Harrison of Longmont, CO.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday (June 17th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Norman Freund officiating. The committal will be in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the OCD Foundation .

Visitation, with closed casket, will be on Tuesday (June 16th), at the Ludvigsen Mortuary from 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
