Cleo was born to George and Rena (Paul) Schroeder at Allen, Nebraska on April 22, 1924. He graduated from Concord High School, and then graduated from Wayne State College.
He taught school in Pierson, Iowa, then Norfolk, Oakland, and Hooper in Nebraska. Cleo had also been the superintendent for 6 years of the Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children in Fremont. He had also worked as a Stran Steel salesman for Jack Davis Construction Co. in Fremont, and he had been a shop supervisor for ENCOR. In his retirement, he managed the Lakeview Woods Camping area, which brought him much joy.
Cleo was always involved with youth in some capacity. He had been a Sunday School teacher, and he was involved with the Boy Scouts, Job's Daughters, and ENCOR. His greatest pride and joy was his family and his love of the out of doors. He had a strong faith in his God and he was very active in his church, The Presbyterian Church. He had served on it's Board of Elders and had been a member of it's Chancel Choir. He was a member of the Fremont Masonic Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M. and Arbor Vitae Chapter 92 Order of Eastern Star.
He was married on June 6, 1948 to Virginia Harms

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Rena.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM tomorrow, Tuesday (June 16th) at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. William Lewis officiating. There will be viewing and visitation today - Monday (June 15th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, from 3 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Mariners group Special Shoe Fund of The Presbyterian Church, the Searchers Sunday School Class of The Presbyterian Church, and to the Low Income Ministry.
