Esther was born on January 17, 1919 to Otto and Mary (Brehmer) Rabe at Wisner, Nebraska. She grew there on the farm. She was baptized on Febr. 9, 1919 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Wisner, and confirmed in the same church on May 22, 1932. She attended rural Cuming County schools and graduated from Wisner High School in the class of 1937.
On December 23, 1939, Esther was married to Emil Roeber in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner. They lived on farms near Wisner, then near Bancroft. In 1950, Esther and Emil moved to Fremont. Esther worked for Mode O Day (ladies wear) and for the Mead Ordnance Plant. She retired in 1978 after working for Western Electric in Millard for 21 years. Esther was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Emil in September of 1998, and by a brother and 7 sisters.

3 grandchildren - Shaunelle Roeber and her 2 children, Danielle and Schuyler Sutter, Fremont
Kelli and husband Lynn Schoening and their 2 children, Kendra and Kate, Lincoln
Jay and wife Laura Roeber of Lincoln
2 sisters - Lois Tomrdle of Wisner
Magdalene and husband Cecil Eschliman of Wisner
sister-in-law - Arlene Rabe of Omaha
The funeral service will be 11 AM Wednesday (Nov. 28th) at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Heuer. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. A memorial will be established.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Tuesday from 3 to 8 PM with the family present from 5 to 7 PM.
