Ramona (Sevenker) Hasek was born on a farm near Ord, Nebraska to Ed and Minnie Sevenker and was named after the movie “Ramona” based on the book of the same name by Helen Hunt Jackson. Nearly 95 years later Ramona passed away at her home in Fremont, Nebraska.
Ramona graduated from Ord High School in 1949 and married Frank V. Hasek in 1950. She taught elementary children in two different one-room schools. Ramona and Frank moved to Fremont where she went to work at the O.P. Skaggs grocery store, which at that time was in the Fremont Opera House building.

As the children grew up, she joined other social activities such as Pals & Gals Extension Club, a Bunco Club, and various card clubs.
