Diane was born in West Point, Nebraska on June 12, 1965 to Vernon and Marian 'Weber' Koester. She was a hard-working farm girl, graduating from Scribner High School in 1983. From there she went on to be a hard-working city girl in Norfolk where she had various odd jobs while she attended college. She worked several years at Dale Electronics and The Uptown in Norfolk until she moved to Ashland to run the Wrath Inn. Although this was the first and last time she had only one job it proved to be a very demanding 24/7 job.
She then moved to Crete and worked in Lincoln at Carol Wright, other various jobs and as a care-giver through Tabitha. The job as a care giver would make her heart sing and break at the same time. She cared so much for the people that she helped that their joys and sorrows became hers also. During this time she also kept herself quite busy loving and caring for many different exotic animals she and her husband were raising.
After her illness she moved back to Norfolk strong and determined to beat her disability and be independent, even buying a house all on her own in 2006. Unfortunately, in 2010 the deterioration from her brain trauma had become so great she had to move to the Golden Living Center to get the extra care she needed and remained there until she died. Unfortunately when she was well, she never set aside enough time for fun, but whenever she had a chance you can bet she'd have a fishing pole in hand. Her flower gardening and animals were also always an enjoyment for her and sure to bring a smile to her face.

The funeral will be Friday, September 7 at 2pm in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Asera Care Hospice and St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel on Thursday with the family present from 3pm to 8pm. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
