"Our thought's and prayers our with your family. He was a man of knowledge and a kind heart. I know the family has lost a loveone and the community a man of strenght and support. He will be missed. I will never forget the day I closed his pickup door [thinking I was helping him] and he said he needed to be able to jump in and go. I enjoyed working at the plant and the farm even more he was always kind and and respectful."

"Willard's mother (Tillie), and my maternal Grandmother (Martha Busselman Monnich) were sisters. Although I was born & raised in California, I remember often times viewing treasured family photographs with my mother (Linda Monnich Peterson). Many of those wonderful photographs included Grand Aunt Tillie, Willard, Ruth, and family. On one of our many trips back to Uehling, my wife, Yvonne, & I thoroughly enjoyed touring the dehy-plant, & the dairy with Willard. Honestly, I do believe that we provided all of the day's entertainment as we eagerly moved from the milking area to the stalls where the calves were held. We will never forget the childlike abandon we felt as we looked into the beautiful eyes of the young calves. Willard encouraged us to "stick out a finger," & my wife squealed with delight as her newly found friend began to nurse gently. Yes, we were certainly "green horns" who will be forever grateful to Willard for his patience, knowledge, and unselfishly sharing his world with his visiting relatives. We pray that his family will also find comfort through their cherished memories. Rest in peace, Cousin Willard."

We have many memories of driving by your farm when traveling to Bancroft to visit Harlan's sister Edith Havekost and also when our daughter Karen Hepp lived in Lyons. We always thought it was such a pretty place. So many memories of Willard at the Low family reunions also."

"Ruth, I work for NPPD and enjoyed the time I that worked with Willard when he had the Dairy and DeHy in Uehling and I worked out of the Oakland office. He was a very smart business man but was also a very upstanding gentleman. My condolence to you and your family, but do remember that he was very well respected and I did enjoy the time that he touched my life. "My sympathies to the family. Uehling was, and still is, my home town. My Dad, Roy, worked for Willard for many years. My three older brothers all worked for Willard at some point in time. I worked at the dairy only briefly planting trees on the north side of the plant on the hill. Nancy was behind me a couple of years in school. Willard and Ruth made it a point to attend my Dad's funeral in 1968 and my Mom's funeral just four years ago this month. He will be missed but the memories will last forever."
