Frances was born March 22, 1922 near Hardy, Nebraska to Carl Christian and Luella (Petersen) Gregersen. She grew up there, graduating from the Hardy High School in 1940. She moved with her family to Oregon and worked for the Oregonian Newspaper.
Then on November 29, 1944, Frances was married to Allan Hansen in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Blair, Nebraska, and while her husband attended Dana College she worked as a cook to pay for his tuition. After graduation the couple moved to Hooper where she started the school hot lunch program and later to Scribner where she was a secretary for the schools superintendents and also worked for Lamberty Hardware. The Hansen's then moved to Nehawka and Scotia in Nebraska where her main duty was taking care of their son Paul. Then they were called to Elk Horn, Iowa due to the death of Allan's father where their daughter Connie was born. They managed the family's care facility, Salem Lutheran Home, which was founded by Allan's father and is still in operation today. From there the Hansen's moved to Mapleton, Iowa and then to Lincoln, Nebraska where Frances worked for Miller & Paine Dept. Store. Their next stop was Holdrege, Nebraska where Frances worked for various businesses. Then Frances and Allan came to Fremont and Frances worked for Schweser's Dept. Store and Allan became the director of ESU No. 2.
Frances was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was active in many of the church's organizations. She was also very active in the Low Income Ministry and her husband was chairman of the board for several years.
Frances was preceded in death by her daughter Connie Hansen Hegarty, and by a brother Lawrence Gregersen.

son - Paul and wife Joyce Hansen of Lincoln
3 grandchildren - Scott, Kristi, and Lisa
son-in-law - Jim Hegarty of Apple Valley, Minnesota
2 brothers - her twin, Frank and wife Lula Gregersen of Reno, Nevada
Carl C. Gregersen of Greenbelt, Maryland
sister - Helena Kaldahl of Eugene, Oregon
The funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday (July 15th) in Salem Lutheran Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Endowment Fund of Salem Lutheran Church, and to Midland Lutheran College.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Visitation will also be at the church Thursday morning for an hour before the service.
