"When I heard of Vernon's passing, I stopped everything and remembered so many wonderful things: our monthly "Dodge County Democrats" gatherings in the family home in which I learned so much about the area and shared Holy Communion with Edna and Vernon since Edna wasn't able to come out to St John's, his stories of work, his love for his children and grandchildren, being best man for Jerry's wedding and his immense pride in your achievements. During this time of sorrow, I looked back at what I preached at Edna's service "Home is where the heart is. Edna's heart was in Christ, knowing that in him, she had a home" May Christ comfort you in your grief with the sweet resurrection promise of eternal life to make tears of loss less bitter."

"Before I ever knew Vernon I knew his parents as they attended Salem Lutheran Church where I attended. With all the Low get togethers over 57 years I have gotten to know him, and his family. "We had tremendous love and respect for Uncle Vernon and Aunt Edna. They were the best we kids could ask for, through out our lives. We loved them very much and will forever miss them in our lives.
