She was born November 14, 1934 in Scottsbluff, NE to Edward and Elizabeth (Blum) Kline. She attended Lake Alice High School through the 10th grade and graduated from Scottsbluff High School. She earned a degree from Nebraska Wesleyan College in Massage Therapy.

Bert had been employed at the Fremont Area Medical Center and Valmont before opening her own business which was know as 'The Relaxer Massage Studio'. She operated the studio for 25 years.

In March of 1960, she was married in Torrington, Wyoming to John Stewart.

6 grandchildren - Jack and wife Jill Valentine, Tim and wife Ciji Valentine, Jordan Stewart,
Bailey Stewart, Zach Stewart, and Maddi Taylor
3 great grandchildren - Kailyn Valentine, Spencer Valentine, and Jena Valentine
brother-in-law - Wilber Weitzel of Scottsbluff
brother-in-law - Richard and wife Doris Stewart of Fremont
many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Josephine Weitzel, and great grandson Issac Valentine.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Friday (Sept. 14th) at the First Congregational Church UCC in Fremont. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to her church and to the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Thursday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
