"I loved Ely like a dad. He was warm, loving, ornery, and full of joy. He was always full of jokes and laughter and ready to break out in song. I treasure the years we sang together in choir. My last memory of him was standing arm in arm at the back of the church harmonizing on Amazing Grace just two weeks before we lost him. God comfort his family. His passing left a hole in the heart of everyone who ever knew him. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven and I hope he doesn't kid around with the angels too much in the meantime."

Elwyn was treasured by his son, as many times Joel would speak of spending time fishing, driving to town or just visiting. The way Joel spoke about his Dad showed how much he cared and will miss him.
