Allen was born July 11, 1919 to Herbert and Lena 'Bartling' Mueller. He graduated from Immanuel Lutheran grade school and Hartung School, then attended Lincoln Aeronautic School. Allen worked at the Martin Bomber plant then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. After his military service was up he began farming and raising purebred Polled Shorthorn cattle his entire life.

Allen married Helen Fischer on April 7, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 3, 1970. Allen then married Lorene Struening on March 18, 1972.

Allen was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow where he was currently a member. He was also a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League, Farm Bureau, American Shorthorn Association, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and had been a 4-H leader and served as trustee and held various offices at Immanuel.

8 grandchildren - Michael and wife Kathy Nast, Kimberly and husband Jeremy Skeels, Andrea and husband Tom Verley, Jacki McDuffee, Joni McDuffee, Megan McDuffee, Tara and husband Scott Lea and Seth Pawling.
6 great grandchildren - Benjamin and Piper Nast, Sydney and Cameron Skeels, Brandon and Zachary Verley
Brothers - Willis and wife Verda Mueller of North Bend
Orlando and wife Lois Mueller of Rural Hooper
Sisters-in-law - Mildred Bartling of Hastings

The funeral will be Friday at 2:00P.M. in Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. The Rev. Mark Weber will officiate. The burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Family Choice. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel in Hooper.
