Jim was born October 4, 1933 in Fremont to John and Ada (Jensen) Sorensen. He attended a country school for a year, and received the rest of his education in the Fremont public school system.
In 1950, he was married to Margie M. Nelson. They had 3 sons; James, Terry, and Allan Sorensen. Later, James and Margie divorced. During those years, he worked for Yager's Seed Corn Co., Gambles Warehouse, Hammond & Stephens, and General Dynamics.
In 1965, he was married to Loretta M. Spulak, and they had 3 daughters; Lita, Patra, and Tonda 'Toni'. During this time, Jim had worked for Hansen Transfer, Tillman Transfer, Plumfield Nursery, Watson's Store Fixtures, and he had been a motor route driver for the Fremont Tribune for 15 years.
He had lived in Fremont for 20 years, then on an acreage near North Bend for 5 years, and in Scribner for 17 years.

3 daughters - Lita Sorensen, Patra (husband Martin) Suhr, and Tonda 'Toni' Sorensen

The funeral service will be in Fremont at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel on Monday at 2 PM with the committal to follow in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be in Fremont at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Monday morning only beginning at 9 AM until the service time. Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution.
