Henry was born July 7, 1927, at Clarkson, Nebraska to Henry and Louise (Kuehner) Hefti. He grew up on the farm near Clarkson, and graduated from high school in Leigh, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during the years of 1947 & 1948. Henry was a farmer, farming near Clarkson until 1971.

He worked for the public schools in Clarkson and also Leigh, Nebraska. Then he was employed by the Nebraska Dept. of Roads until retiring and moving to Fremont in August of 2008.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. He also belonged to the Pathfinder Woodcarvers Club, and he had been active at the Friendship Center. He also volunteered with the Low Income Ministry.

On October 1, 1949 Henry was married to Darlene Jenny.

daughter - Jackie and husband Dean Novotny of Plattsmouth
grandson - Jeff and wife Julisa Novotny of Council Bluffs, Iowa
granddaughter - Carrie and husband Brian Buresh of Bellevue
great grandson - Joey
3 great granddaughters - Kaitlyn, Kortney, and Madilyn
3 sisters - LaVerna Jedlicka of Schuyler
Louise Barjenbruck of Leigh
Helen Stanley of Big Springs
Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Louise, and 2 sisters Margaret Schneider and Dorothy Anderl.

A memorial service will be 11 AM Friday (Jan. 7th) at Salem Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church and to the family choice.
