Caren S. Lillie, 83 of Fremont died peacefully Thursday September 11, 2025 at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.

Caren was born October 6, 1941 to Carroll and Bonnie Dickerson of Fremont. She was a lifelong resident of Fremont. Caren attended Fremont Public Schools, and graduated from Fremont High School 1959. On March 26, 1966 Caren married the love of her life John F. Lillie in Fremont. She worked in the cafeteria of Lincoln Elementary School, Wal-Mart as a store greeter, and was also an in-home daycare provider for many children. Caren loved visiting with people and was known and remembered by so many with her church involvement and work at the school and Wal-Mart. Caren was a member and Elder of First Christian Church and currently a member of First Lutheran Church. Caren's faith was strong and she relied on the Lord for strength and courage throughout her life.

Caren loved her dogs fiercely and gave them the best care. She also loved sports and watched as much volleyball, football, baseball, basketball, and tennis. Husker sports held an extra special place in her heart. GO BIG RED!

Daughter- Tahnee and husband David Siders of Omaha
Grandson- Dillon Siders of Omaha
Brother and Sister-in-law Ted and Val Bokowski of Gretna
Sister-in-law Virginia Acker of Lincoln
Mom Caren to Sam Heineman
Nana to Gessica Gdowski

Caren was loved by countless nieces and nephews as well as close family members and friends.

Caren was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step father Jim Bokowski, mother-in-law, father-in-law Wallace and Blanche Lillie, sister and brother-in-law Jamie and John Morehouse, brother-in-law Rev. Dwain Acker, and niece Carla Ring.

Special thanks from Caren's family to their visiting angel, Leah Finkbohm, for all of her compassion and dedication.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, from 5pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral will be 10:30am, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont with burial in Memorial Cemetery, memorials are suggested to FurEver Homes (https://www.fetchingfureverhomes.org) and the Josie Harper Hospice House.
