Darlene Prokop, age 88, of Fremont
Died Friday, April 23, 2025 at home.

Darlene was born August 12, 1936 to Jerome and Odeile 'Reinheimer' Prokop in Stuart, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm near Spencer, Nebraska and was active in 4-H. Her education started in a country school (District 77) and graduated from Spencer High School. After graduation Darlene attended Wayne State for 2 years and then started her teaching career in Randolph, Nebraska. After teaching there for 4 years she went back to Wayne State. She moved to Fremont after college graduation and taught for 36 years at Washington, Davenport and Linden Elementary Schools. Darlene retired in 1998.

Darlene did volunteer work for various places. She enjoyed her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed sewing flannel and fleece blankets. Many children in and around Fremont were recipients of her blankets.

There will be no local services for Darlene she will be buried at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Spencer, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the Fremont Public Schools Foundation.
