Betty June Heller was born on July 20, 1927 in Fremont to William F. and Ruby (Beahr) Bayer. She was raised in Hooper and lived in the area all of her life. Betty graduated from Hooper High School in 1944. She started working at the First National Bank in Hooper while in high school, and retired from the Hooper Branch of First National Bank Northeast in December of 1997.

Betty married Howard Heller Jr. on November 21, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hooper. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1998.

Betty was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, where she served as Sunday School teacher, Altar Guild member and in various other activities.

Daughter - Nancy Heller of Lincoln
Grandson - Thad and wife Marcy Frey of Hooper
Granddaughter - Hope Frey of Fremont
Brother - William R. and wife Sue Bayer of Cedar, MN.
Nieces - Jacqueline and husband Mike Kleespie of Derby, KS.
Anne and husband Ross Johnson of St. Louis Park, MN.
Nephew - Joe and wife Nicole Bayer of San Diego, CA.
Great Nieces - Abigail Kleespie, Madelynne Bayer and Ella Bayer
Great Nephews - Jacob Kleespie, Max Bayer, and baby boy Johnson
Brother-in-law - Rodney and wife Sandra Heller of Milan, TX.
Cousin - Vernon and wife Dorothy Poggensee of Fremont
and many other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Jerry Frey, infant grandson Matthew Frey, infant sister Dorothy Bayer, infant great-niece Jessica Kleespie, parents-in-law Howard and wife Mabel 'Jahrmarkt' Heller Sr., brothers-in-law James and David Heller and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be Monday March 21, 10:30 A.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hooper Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hooper Volunteer Fire Department, Hooper Care Center and Odyssey Hospice Care. Visitation will be Sunday 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 3pm to 5pm at the Hooper Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
