Cathlene E. 'Kay' Nickolaison, age 87, of Fremont
Died Friday, December 6, 2024 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont
Cathlene was born September 20, 1937 in Fremont to Ogden and Gwendolyn 'Wilson' Martin Sr. She was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1955. Cathlene married LeRoy Nickolaison on January 6, 1956. The couple lived in Fremont and she worked part time at an insurance agency. She then sold Avon for many years mostly for the social aspect and then she owned and operated KP Cleaning all while raising her family.
Cathlene loved to bake and garden. She loved animals – all of them from cats to opossums. She was also a lifetime member of the Fremont Presbyterian Church.

Lori (Ken) Modlin of Fremont
Kris (Doris) Nickolaison of Fremont
4 grandchildren – Angie Modlin, Tabatha (Paul) Yee-Fong,
Seth (Yohka) Nickolaison and Sarah (Dalton) Keightley
Brothers – Ogden 'Yogi' (Candy) Martin of Fremont
Paul (Mary Jane) Martin of Colorado
Brother-in-law – Kim (Lori) Nickolaison of Florida
Sister-in-law – Carol Martin of Fremont
Cathlene was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy on November 25, 2023, parents, brother Robert Martin and another brother in infancy.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Wednesday December 11, 2024 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Newman Grove, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3pm to 7pm with the family present 5pm to 7pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Memorials may directed to the family.
