Harvey A. Bartling, age 92, of Fremont, formerly of Hooper
Died Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Methodist Fremont Health
Harvey was born May 30, 1931 in Herman, Nebraska to Adolph and Bertha 'Benjes' Bartling. He attended Belle Center Public School, Immanuel Lutheran School and Hooper High School, graduating in 1949. Harvey served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 and following his service he was a life long farmer, farming just east of the West Admah Cemetery.
Harvey married Elaine Jahnke on April 24, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pender. Harvey was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. He served the church as an Elder, member of the Choir, Secretary/Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendent. He also served his community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Farmer's Coop in Hooper, Lyons Coop Creamery, Lyons Associated Milk Producers in New Ulm, MN., and the Rural Water Board. Harvey was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #18 in Hooper.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald, sister Erma Stigge.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Immanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 3pm to 7pm with the family present from 5pm to 7pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel in Hooper. Memorials are suggested to the church or Mission Central.
