Melissa was born November 25, 1941 in Monroe, Nebraska to Noah and Evelina (Miller) Davis. She married her surviving husband Larry Strong, on February 20, 1959. Also surviving are her three children: Jeanette Jeppesen of Fremont, Doug Strong and wife Nancy of Fremont, Mark Strong and wife Christy of Omaha, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Other survivors are three brothers: Robert Davis of Columbus, Clarence Davis and wife Billie of Cane Hill, Arkansas, Gary 'Butch' Davis and wife Lois of Albany, Oregon, and sister Mila 'Pee Wee' and her husband Lynton Marty of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont on Tuesday (May 24, 2011) from 2 to 8 PM. The family will receive friends and guests from 6 to 8 PM.
The funeral service will be held at Sinai Lutheran Church on Wednesday (May 25, 2011) at 11 AM, with the Rev. Michael Ostrom officiating.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Dodge County Humane Society in memory of Melissa Strong.
