Billy Joe Saunders was born to John and Dorothy 'Walter' Saunders on July 23, 1941 in Dixon, Nebraska. Billy came to Fremont with his family as a young child. He attended Fremont public schools and was a member of the Class of 1960, the first graduating class to attend the 'new' high school. After attending art school in Omaha, Billy was employed as a commercial artist by Schwesers in Fremont, Natelsons, Montgomery Wards, and Goldstein Chapman department stores of Omaha. After retiring from his art career he was employed at Fremont Beef.
Billy is survived by his three brothers, Lyle Saunders of Fremont, Gaylord and wife Patricia Saunders of Spokane, WA.; Tom and wife Elsie Saunders of Arlington. Two sisters Patricia Rolf and Margaret 'Peg' and husband Floyd Harriger all of Fremont. Billy is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews and many great and great great nieces and nephews, and life long friend Lee Renninger of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Gary Saunders.
No services will be held, the family wishes all memorials be directed to Birchwood Manor in North Bend.
