Marcella 'Marcie' Divis-Michaud, age 82, of Fremont
Died Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Nye Legacy in Fremont.

Marcie was born October 20, 1939 in Schuyler, Nebraska to Burton and Rose 'Jindra' Knepper. She married Elman Divis on June 14, 1958. He died on April 23, 1978. She then married Bill Michaud on August 9, 1996. He died on March 16th, 2016.

Marcie graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work from UNO.

Marcie served as the executive director of Low Income Ministry of Dodge County for over 21 years. As a local, state and national Advocate she served on various Boards including Greater Omaha Community Action, Region VI Behavioral Health, Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging, RSVP, Care Corps Homeless Shelter founding board, NE/Iowa ADA and also American Diabetes Midwest Regional boards.

Marcie was also an active volunteer for many years, having been honored for her work by the American Diabetes Association, Nebraskans for Peace for her senior advocacy, Ak-Sar-Ben for her work through Low Income Ministry and various other awards. She had also served as Sunday School Superintendent and on the Parish Education Board at First Lutheran Church for over 8 years.

Time spent with family in Omaha was very important to her. During her later years she enjoyed reading e-books on her Kindle and watching archaeology/explorer documentaries. Marcie was overflowing with love to share and made everyone around her feel loved, important and appreciated. She was at peace and surrounded by family when she passed.
Survivors include son, Scott Divis (Debbie Baker), stepdaughters Nancy McCabe and Brenda Freye, step son-in-law Kelley Perry. Surviving grandchildren are Kayla Divis Price (Tristan), Derek, Alex, and Chance Jackson, Melissa and Tyler McCabe (Amy), Shana Perry Arnold (Tyler) and Jordan Perry, Delanie and Colin Freye, Shayna Baker Rasmussen (David), and Chase Baker. Great Grandchildren T.J. Price, Julian Rasmussen, Perry Arnold, Connor and Elijah McCabe and Ana Jackson. Other survivors include sisters-in-law Janet Divis, Dorothy Divis, Billie Divis, Lorraine Divis, Shirley Henke, brothers-in-law Richard Divis, Don Divis, Stan Divis, Duane Divis and Dan Divis and many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and special neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husbands Elman Divis and Bill Michaud and step-daughters Sondra Jackson and Susan Perry, son-in-law Martin Freye, sisters –in-law, Naomi Divis, Helen Marie Erickson , Donna Lee Holsteen and Dorothy Michaud and brothers-in-law Joe Divis Jr., Ernest Divis, Dennis Divis, and Bob Michaud.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be 2pm, Thursday, December 30, 2021 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont, the Rev. Ernest Medina will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church.
