Linda M. McDermott age 70, of Fremont Died Monday November 8, 2021 at Methodist Fremont Health

Linda was born July 21, 1951 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Roland F. 'Mac' and Deloris (Walton) McDermott. She was raised in Fremont and attended Grant Elementary School. She was involved in prep club in High School and graduated in 1969. Linda was always excited for her class reunions, recently attending her 50th reunion in 2019 and was looking forward to 2024.

As a child Linda loved going to Minnesota fishing where Mac and Deloris allowed her to bring her best friend Jan to spend time with. It was probably to keep her from bothering her brothers Bob and Jim. Linda worked in the medical records department at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Upon adopting her son Pablo in the early 1980's, from El Salvador, Linda moved to Fremont and started her career as a unit secretary for over 20 years at what is now, Methodist Fremont Health.

Linda enjoyed socializing and the friendships that she made while working there. One of Linda's favorite pastimes was bowling. She was involved in the Women's league at 30 bowl for over 10 years. She retired early from Methodist Fremont Health due to health issues. Linda loved to go to Creighton basketball games and when she didn't go she always watched them on TV at Creighton parties with friends. She also enjoyed camping trips with her mom and aunt at local state parks. Linda's favorite Nebraska state park was Mahoney and one of her last outings was with Jan and her friends at a Melodrama at the park, even though she was not feeling well, she insisted on going. When Linda got sick she was worried about what would happen to her dog, Sadie. She is thankful that Carol and Fred Ness took her in and are still her foster parents today.
