Norman was just a great person, and Jon told me many childhood memories, and how Norman always looked out for the younger cousins. He alway had a laugh and smile when Jon would see him in Scribner as adults. So much shock and sorrow when we heard the news. We will remember Norman as the kind and caring person he was. "My sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Norman Poppe. I have met him just three times in the last three years but all were special. I am a biologist with the Nebraska Game and Parks. I feel fortunate to have visited with him on Tuesday while inspecting deer damage to his corn. As always, Norman was cordial, kind and pleasant to be with. He generously allowed apprentice hunters to hunt deer on his land. Norman to me, represented a lot of good things about landowners/farmers in Nebraska. My prayers are with you and your family."
