Richard was born January 7, 1922 to Will and Emma 'Swenson' Egbers in rural Uehling. He graduated from Uehling High School in 1939. He served with the Korean Occupation Army during WWII from 1945 to 1946. After the army Richard returned to the Uehling area and began farming with his brother, cousin and dad. ON December 5, 1969 he married Dorothy Hill at Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg.
Richard was a life member of the Hooper VFW Post 10535 and was past superintendent of the Elim Cemetery, Swaburg.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
