Phyllis was born to Carl and Lena (Weihe) Schulz on March 21, 1929 in Fremont. She grew up in Fremont, attending Trinity Lutheran School where she graduated from the 8th grade, then graduating from Fremont High School in 1947.
She was married on October 30, 1947 in Trinity Lutheran Church to Anton Belak and they made their home in Fremont. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company through the early 1950's, then became a stay at home mom.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been a member of the adult choir all her adult life, and she was active with the church's bell choir since it's beginning, and remained active until her eyesight began to fail. She also volunteered at the Fremont Area Medical Center, and worked with the lifeline program.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anton in September of 2010, a son Timothy in 2007, and by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Tuesday (Oct. 11th) at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. David Coe officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Tuition Fund of Trinity Lutheran School.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be today, Monday (Oct. 10th) from 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
