Leona was born March 9, 1925 in Courtland, KS. to Clifford and Quanita 'Wilkinson' Silvey. She moved to Craig, was raised there, and graduated from Craig High School in 1944. On October 11, 1944, Leona married John Rouse in Council Bluffs, IA. The couple lived in the Craig area their whole life. Leona worked for over 20 years at the Tekamah Senior Center (now the Golden Living Center Tekamah). She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Craig United Methodist Church. Leona loved to garden and grow flowers, she loved her family, they were very special to her.

John preceded Leona in death in 1990.

Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild

Along with her husband, Leona was preceded in death by her parents and son and daughter-in-law Lloyd and Betty Rouse.

The funeral will be 11:00 A.M., Friday October 14 at the Craig United Methodist Church in Craig, NE. The Rev. Richard Tiggelaar will officiate. The burial will follow in the Craig Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Methodist Church in Craig on Thursday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
