"Simply, my most inspiring teacher ever. Mrs. Schroeder led the Valley vocal music program in the 70s and 80s. She nurtured us, inspired us, and helped so many find outlets for our love of music.

Almost 50 years after I met her, I can still remember our vocal ensembles, swing choirs, and solo work. God's heavenly choir, just got a new member.

Thank you Mrs. Schroeder, you helped me through high school and I'm still singing today (in large part to your teaching and encouragement). I have so many wonderful memories. I was blessed to have you in my life.

Deryl Johnson (Valley High School, Class of 1980)"

"My dear Virginia, you were one of the sweetest person I have ever met. You nurtured my love of music & singing. I wasn't the best alto you had but you made me feel like I was indispensable. I loved doing my best for you. You will be missed so very much by your family, your church & by me. Rest easy in the arms of your Lord. Bert Nelson"
