Evelyn was born April 17, 1914 near North Bend to John and Julia 'Mitchell' Ladehoff. She was the 4th of 9 children and was raised on the family farm. She attended District 11 schools through the 8th grade. She married Rudolph Tichota in 1935 and lived and farmed in the area. In 1948, Evelyn married Franklin Liston. The couple farmed north of Nickerson until 1997 when they moved into Fremont. Evelyn moved to the Pathfinder house in 2002 and most recently resided in Arbor Manor.
Evelyn was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Franklin in 2000, a daughter Jean and son Marvin in addition to her 8 brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be 11am Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel in Hooper. Visitation will continue 1 hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
