Willis was born October 23, 1924 in Hamburg, Iowa to Lee and Myrtle (Minter) Brown. He grew up there and moved with his family to Shenandoah, Iowa in 1939 where he graduated from high school. Later, he received an electrical engineering technician degree.

In 1953 he left Iowa, moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, later to Arlington, Nebraska, and then to Fremont. He was employed by the Mead Ordnance Plant from 1960 to 1968, then was employed by Valmont as an electrician. In 1972 he started his own electrical contracting business, working out of Mead. He retired in August of 2006.

On September 9, 1943 Willis was married to Norma Jean Martin, and she preceded him in death in 1992.

Willis had been a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Waterloo Masonic Lodge No. 102 A.F. & A.M. located in Elkhorn and had served 2 terms it's Worshipful Master. He had also been a member of the York Rite and Tangier Shrine of Omaha, and he was a member of Arbor Vitae Chapter 92 Order of Eastern Star of Fremont.

He is survived by : son Terry L. Brown of Fremont
daughter - Darla and husband Jon Strenger of Omaha

Willis was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean, son Richard, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

The funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday (Nov. 26th) in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont. The committal will follow in the Arlington Cemetery, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Arlington Veteran's Club. Memorials are suggested to the Masonic-Eastern Star Home for Children in Fremont and to the Child Evangelism of Omaha, or the Risen Son Baptist Church in Omaha.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Friday (Nov. 25th) from 3 to 8 PM with a Masonic Service, open to the public, at 7:30 PM, conducted by Waterloo Lodge No. 102. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 PM.
